Born in Damascus, Syria Dr.Bakdash always dreamt of becoming a medical doctor wanting to help others. He would play act the doctors role with his siblings early on in childhood, thus feeding the zest for this honorable profession.
Studied and obtained md degree from AU medical school in 1989.One year training in Neuropsychiatry as well as EEG brain wave studies that proved to be elementary in advancing successful career in Neurology.
Migrated to the United States in 1990, to further his education and in search of the American dream. After successfully passing all requirements for residency training program, attend University of Minnesota (1993-2000)
Received residency training and fellowships at UM and its affiliated hospitals with degrees in Neurology and subspecialty of neuromuscular Diseases, clinical neurophysiology, EEG and EMG studies.
Board Certified by ABPN in the specialty of Neurology and subspecialty of Clinical Neurophysiology.
Served as chief of the neurology department at the VAMC (Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center), Louisville, KY 2000-2003,also Assistant professor at the university of Louisville, KY during the same period.
